A little about me
I am a marketing strategist, social media specialist, LinkedIn trainer, and founder of The M Guru.
Since venturing out on my own, I have helped literally thousands of business owners, professionals, freelancers, solopreneurs, executives and teams with digital marketing.
I am very fortunate to have worked with some of the world’s largest companies, as well as many small businesses – all with one goal in mind: to get their online presence perfect to attract their ideal clients, creating long-term sustainable business success.
A little background
It all started in the late 90s when I did my marketing degree at university – it was then I knew I wanted to do this forever. While working in marketing, I also achieved two postgraduate qualifications in marketing and marketing communications, and I’m a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
After a long and illustrious career in marketing, working for organisations in automotive, motorsport, retail, education, and local government (as well as a short stint as a pub/restaurant landlord), I started my own digital marketing agency – The M Guru (the M stands for marketing) – in 2017.
A little bit about what I do
I started my business life as a generalist social media manager As well as trying my hand at many related things such as building websites, paid social, and search engine optimisation. I soon realised that my skills were in organic social media – particularly LinkedIn and Meta platforms – helping service-sector businesses such as solicitors, HR, accountants, IT, photographers, coaches, web developers, consultants, and more. In essence, working with any business which was providing a service.
Today, my main focus is LinkedIn training though bespoke packages for individuals or teams or my LinkedIn-focused membership: The Squeeze.
I also deliver workshops for the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce; I’m a regular columnist in the Freelancer Magazine; I’m a professional speaker; and I host two events: LinkedIn-Local Birmingham and UpLift Live.
